Inspired by Nepali folklore, Laughing Lakhé brings a mischievous, protective spirit into modern life. Bold, expressive, a little chaotic, and deeply observant, Lakhé has been reimagined as a naughty, funny companion for everyday moments.
Less terrifying.
More relatable.
Still very much sassy, sarcastic, and quietly judging everything.
Lakhe's an immigrant!
In Nepal, Lakhe is a powerful spirit figure, mainly guarding Kathmandu Valley. Known for his energy and his unapologetic personality, he shows up loudly. At times he is protective and also causes just enough trouble to keep things interesting.
We were drawn to that duality. The mischief and the care. The chaos and the protection.
Laughing Lakhé takes that folklore spirit and translates it into something softer, funnier, and more everyday. Instead of masks and parades, you’ll find him living on pins, tote bags, magnets, cards, and stationery. Watching. Reacting. Offering a perfectly timed side-eye.
What we make
We create illustrated products that feel like inside jokes you didn’t know you needed.
Everything we design starts with a feeling. Tiredness. Distraction. Joy. Mild social dread. That oddly specific moment where you feel seen by a drawing.
From acrylic pins and magnets to tote bags, greeting cards, and paper goods, our pieces are made to add a little lightness to everyday life
Our Designs
They are made with sass, and lot of creativity. Mixing quality material and equal quality humour we make stuffs that are:
- Cute, but not empty
- Funny, but not loud
- Soft on the outside, quietly unhinged underneath
They’re small companions for people who feel things deeply and laugh about it anyway.
The humans behind the chaos
Sneha is the illustrator and creative heart of the brand.
She turns observations, emotions, and fleeting thoughts into expressive characters that somehow look like they understand you. Her illustrations are playful, emotional, and rooted in storytelling. The raised eyebrows. The knowing look. The internal monologue you didn’t realise you were sharing.
If a character feels a little too accurate, that’s Sneha.
Jamie runs the show.
He takes care of the structure behind the creativity. Planning, logistics, problem-solving, and all the practical details that turn ideas into real products you can hold, use, and gift.
Together, Sneha and Jamie balance imagination with execution. Folklore with function. Chaos with calm.
The studio supervisors (three cats)
We also live with three cats. They contribute nothing useful. But supervise everything.
They sit on sketches, walk across keyboards, and judge design decisions silently. Many Laughing Lakhé products were created under strict feline observation, which may explain certain expressions.
They are, unfortunately, in charge.
How we design?
Every Laughing Lakhé product begins with a feeling, not a trend.
We design slowly and intentionally, thinking about how things look, feel, and fit into real lives. Our products are meant to be used, carried, gifted, and lived with. Not just admired once and forgotten.
We care deeply about:
- Expressive, character-led illustration
- Quality materials that last beyond the first smile
- Designs that feel comforting, familiar, and a little cheeky
Each piece is a small story you get to take with you.
What we believe?
We believe humour doesn’t need to shout to be funny.
That folklore can evolve without losing its soul.
That everyday moments deserve thoughtful design.
Laughing Lakhé exists to add lightness to life.

To remind you that it’s okay to be tired, distracted, opinionated, awkward, emotional, or all of the above.
