How does a Laughing Lakhe product come to life?
Usually, with a feeling. Not a brief.
It starts with an observation. Something ordinary. Something overlooked. A phrase, a habit, a cultural reference, or a tiny frustration that refuses to leave.
From there comes sketching. Loose, imperfect, often messy. Ideas are allowed to be bad at this stage. They usually are.
Illustration comes next. This is where restraint matters most. Every line has a job. Every colour has a reason. If it does not add meaning or mood, it does not stay.
Once the design feels right, we think about how it will live in the real world. On a desk. In a bag. In someone’s daily routine. If it feels awkward or forgettable, it goes back to the drawing board.
Nothing is rushed. Nothing is accidental.
The goal is not to create more things. It is to create things worth keeping.
